About the DataWise Foundation

The DataWise Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strengthens West Michigan’s research and data ecosystem.

Founded by the team behind DataWise Consulting, the Foundation builds bridges between academic knowledge and community practice. Our work creates learning opportunities, shared data systems, and collaborative projects that help organizations make better, more equitable decisions.

Rooted in the values of connection, curiosity, and justice, we envision a generous and creative research network where better community outcomes emerge from neighborly collaboration.

The Foundation is the nonprofit arm of the DataWise network. While DataWise Consulting operates as a social-science evaluation firm, the Foundation extends that mission through educational programs and community partnerships that serve the public good.

Most Foundation projects are funded through grants, partner contributions, or sliding-scale fees for service. This structure allows us to keep work accessible while compensating the professionals and students who make it possible.

We collaborate with nonprofits, funders, academic institutions, and local governments that share our commitment to data-driven community improvement.
We’re based in West Michigan, with partnerships that extend across the region and statewide as we strengthen data collaboration and research capacity.
